Стартап Cerebras, стремящийся конкурировать с Nvidia, подал заявку на IPO в США

Cerebras, an AI startup aiming to compete with Nvidia, has filed for an IPO in the U.S., potentially raising up to $1 billion, according to Bloomberg. Details regarding the offering remain undisclosed, but they are expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker CBRS. Cerebras describes itself as an early-stage competitor to Nvidia and other major chip manufacturers, aiming to leverage a unique approach. Its flagship product, the Cerebras CS-3, is optimized for AI computations and can be clustered to power AI supercomputers.

Financially, Cerebras has shown rapid growth, with sales of $136.4 million in the first half of 2024—nearly 16 times higher than the $8.7 million in the same period the previous year. However, the company incurred a net loss of $66.6 million, down from $77.8 million year-over-year. A significant concern is Cerebras’ heavy reliance on a single client, G42 from the UAE, which accounted for 87% of sales in the first half of 2024. This dependency raises risks as G42’s investments, including $1.5 billion from Microsoft, hinge on U.S. governmental approval.

The planned IPO is among the most anticipated in the tech sector for 2024, driven by sustained investor interest in AI despite increasing competition. Since the beginning of 2024, tech IPOs have generated $6.7 billion, with overall U.S. IPO proceeds increasing by 53% year-over-year. Cerebras specializes in developing computer systems for complex AI applications that require deep learning, servicing corporations, research institutions, and government agencies. In 2021, the startup raised $250 million, achieving a valuation exceeding $4 billion.
